Communication Skills for Support Staff (36 hrs, 3 days a week and 3hrs a day)

 

This course is designed for support staff that does not have very good Communication skills. Course contents can be revised according to the level of participants so that their needs would be addressed.

Objectives
On completion of course the participants will be able to:

  • Understand routine instructions

  • Receive and see off the visitors

  • Put questions such as where to go, when to go, what to have, whom to see?

  • Give short answers and convey messages

  • Give small information

  • Guide the visitors and serve the guests/ families with courtesy

    • Numerals and Alphabets

    • Vowels and Consonants

  • 2nd Lesson

    • How to Start Speaking English

    • Some important words their meanings usage and pronunciations

    • Expressing Good Etiquette

  • 3rd Lesson

    • Parts of Speech

    • Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adverb, Adjective, Article, Prepositions, Conjunctions and Interjections

  • 4th Lesson

    • Grammar for Beginners

    • Tenses: Present Tense, Past Tense & Future Tense

  • 5th Lesson

    • Model Sentence Based on Present, Past & Future tenses

    • Use of short conversational and other sentences of daily use

  • 6th Lesson

    • Exclamatory Words & Short Sentences

    • Miscellaneous Interrogative Sentences

  • 7th Lesson

    • Common Questions

    • Imperative Sentences (Sentences of Instruction / Order / Advice)

  • 8th Lesson

    • Some Useful Sentences (Idiomatic Sentences / Sentences Of Daily Use)

    • General Sentences on Meeting

  • 9th Lesson

    • Temporal Sentences

    • The sentences using Words Like “As soon As, Whereas, Because also, Unless etc.

  •  10th Lesson

    • Singular & Plural Numbers

    • Use of daily sentences

    • Active Voice & Passive Voice

METHODOLOGY:
Focus will be on practice instead of completion of course hours. This approach will provide plenty of time to the participants to learn and practice and to have sessions for re-enforcement of learnt lessons and tips.

Who should attend?
Support staff having very little or no working knowledge of English language skills.
